On discovery that dermal fillers that are traditionally used to plump up lips and cheeks can be used to enhance girth; plastic surgeons have seen an increase in patients.
Although an increase in patients has been noticed, the procedures would still be described as rare.
The most common reason for enlargement is because men want to feel better about themselves. Often not directly relating to the size of their penis, but is more about acquiring a boost of self-esteem.

Patients can expect to spend around $10,000 on a temporary filler, that can be topped up after time if the patient so desires.
One patient reported that they experienced performance anxiety after the procedure. They stated that this was not a permanent problem, but it just took a bit of time to feel comfortable with the enhancement. With great power comes great responsibility.

Body image issues is commonly an issue that is associated with women. Therefore, it can be surprising to hear that cosmetic surgery is being sought out by men.
Monash University clinicial psychologist Dr Gemma Sharp undertook a study to understand what caused men to seek such procedures and the following affects it had on their lives.
She and Dr Jayson Oates (co-author), interviewed 25 Australian men who underwent non-invasive enlargement in the last 12 months.
The qualitative study revealed a diverse sample, including men of all ages and different professional fields.
Dr Oates said, "I suppose that penis size really taps into men's sense of self, no matter what else is going on in their lives."
Dr Sharp continued to say that cosmetic procedures, including those on genitals, have become much more popular in Australia over the past few years.
Non-invasive male enhancement procedures have only been in Australia for five years, before then, penis enlargement involved breaking a ligament in one's pubic bone, $15,000 and six months of recovery. Six months without sex!
