Study Suggests Cat Owners Are More Likely to Be into Bondage

Cat people have always been a little strange.

I guess owning a feline really is a prolonged form of submission. Patting them, feeding them, sharing pictures of them on social media, allowing them to have three quarters of the bed when their body is disproportionately unjustified to fill that amount of space! It's a surface area tragedy, a poor night's sleep and a sore neck, as long as the cat's well rested I guess...

You may not realise how much of a servant you are to your favourite feline. But apparently the moment you may realise you're alternatively domesticated is when your desires suddenly sit on the kinkier side of the spectrum. However, a sudden bondage fantasy doesn't actually have anything to do with your undying servitude to the self-appointed overlord of the house.

A recent study in Evolutionary Psychology found that cat owners are more likely to be into BDSM because of a parasite. The parasite toxoplasma gondii, which is found in a cat's brain, is linked to finding dangerous or scary situations a turn on.

The study found that people who had toxoplasmosis, caused by the parasite, had a higher attraction to bondage and masochism.

The findings were based on data from more than 36000 people from Eastern Europe, some who had toxoplasmosis, some who didn't.

Researchers from the Charles University of Prague stated: "Infected subjects are more often aroused by their own fear, danger, and sexual submission."

Of course, toxoplasmosis isn't the sole cause people are taking a liking to BDSM or "violent" sexual scenarios.

"It must be stressed that the Toxoplasmainfection explains only small part of the variability in BDSM-associated traits." So, don't stop petting your pussy, in the fear that your preference for vanilla sex is going to go astray.
