This item would be great with a little tinkering - the metal link between the chain and the ball had a sharp bit. Replacing it would make it a great toy. The chain is smooth and the ball looks a lot of fun. It wouldn't cost much at all to buy a smoother link at a craft shop, making it great value for money.
