it can be hard to open to get the battery in, but once you do its a great little toy. First vibe ive owned so i cant say much in regards to its sound level as compared to others but it did seem pretty quiet to me.
the one thing is that because theres only one 'on' position as opposed to the rest of the turn being 'off'
if youre trying to turn it on in the heat of the moment it can be a little hard to find the exact right spot
